Beyond Mises

I just finished writing a book, titled Beyond Mises. If you are not an aficionado of Austrian Economics, you probably do not know who Mises was… and if you are, then you surely do know.

What exactly is Austrian Economics? It is the only school of economics based in the realities of Human Action. It is also the only school of economics that has correctly predicted the failure of our monetary system.

Ludwig von Mises was the economist who not only contributed greatly to the science of Austrian Economics, but also carried the Austrian school through hard times. Keynes’ contrary theories were embraced by statists world over; and the Austrians were by and large ignored. Remember Richard Nixon’s cry “We are All Keynesians Now”… Mises carried on in all integrity, and the very survival of the Austrian School is to his credit.

Unfortunately the truth will out… and the fallacies and lies embodied in Kynesian economics are now becoming clear to all…  as the Global Financial Crisis gathers steam. Only Austrian economics is able to give a clear explanation of what is the root cause of the crisis. Interestingly, Austrian Economics is making a comeback!

Well, the fact is that although Mises was a great economist, his word was not the final word… there is always room to carry knowledge and theory to new levels.  Professor Antal Fekete is one monetary scientist who has indeed taken Mises’ work, and Austrian Economics, to new levels. Thus my book, Beyond Mises… is based on the work of Antal Fekete.

The book is written to make Professor Fekete’s work… and Austrian economics in general… accessible to intelligent laymen; that is to people who are not economists by training or inclination. If you want to understand the fundamentals of money and credit, to understand the history of money, to understand the root cause of the ongoing crisis… as well as the only possible way to resolve the crisis… then this book is for you.

The final edit is being done right now, and proof copies will be commissioned by the end of June. You will be able to order the book at the BeyondMises.com web site soon… stay tuned for updates.

About Rudy Fritsch

I was born in Hungary in 1947, and fled Socialist tyranny during the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. My family had lived through WWII and the consequent Hungarian hyperinflation, thus I have intimate experience with financial destruction. My Dad used Gold to buy our way out of Hungary. Paper money was as good as toilet paper. Later in life, during my studies of Austrian economics, I came to realize that only Gold could solve the Global Financial Crisis (which should be called the Global Monetary Crisis), just as Gold solved our otherwise insoluble problem of getting out of Communist Hungary.
